Description

Is your ACE Pro turning your filament into a bird's nest? 😩 Tired of wrestling with your ACE Pro's filament feeding? 


Fear not, my fellow ACE Pro wranglers! Salvation is at hand!

This here, easy print, easy to install mod will help reduce all those pesky tangling and feeding problems.


What it does:


- Guides Filament: Keeps the filament input straight, making filament feeding easier and more reliable.

- Prevents Spool Tangles: Lifts the filament up and over itself on the spool, helping to loosen tightly wound filament and prevent jams.

- Retains Filament: If the ACE Pro loses its grip during retraction (we've all been there!), the filament stays within the PTFE tube, preventing those annoying loose loops inside the unit.



Material needed:


1- 4 x PC4-M6 pneumatic fittings (these have a 4mm opening for the PTFE tube and an M6 thread). you can find them on amazon and aliexpress. They come in different colors, so go wild and match your printer, your filament, or even your socks! (No judgment here 😉).(A design without the PC4-M6 is available).

2- At least 1 m (3.5 feet) of PTFE tube (4 mm OD, 2 mm ID), also available in many colors, so you have a chance to go crazy twice.

3- Print the file (total print time 1:15 hr, no support needed) - Recommended to print in PETG for heat resistance.


Installation instructions:



1- Remove the Top Cover: Unscrew the two screws holding the ACE Pro's top cover and remove the cover.



2- Remove Original Inlets: Remove the original filament feed inlets.



3- Install Fittings (Optional): Screw in the PC4-M6 pneumatic fittings (or skip this step if you're using the no-fitting version of the design).



4- Cut PTFE Tube: Cut four pieces of PTFE tube, each 14cm (5.5 inches) long. Use a sharp blade or PTFE tube cutter for a clean, square cut. Avoid crushing the tube.



5- Install the new feed inlets: Install the printed ACE Pro Filament Guide inlets.



6- Install Filament Guide Heads: Insert a Filament guide head into each of the PTFE tubes.



7- Connect Tubing: Insert the PTFE tubes into the new feed inlets. Gently nudge those tubes into their new homes. They should fit snugly. The tubes should go further in until they touch the feed inlets inside the ACE Pro.



8- Reattach Cover: Reinstall the top cover with the two screws.



9- Done! Give yourself a pat on the back. You've just tamed the filament beast! 🎉 Enjoy your upgraded, more reliable ACE Pro!
