Hello MakerOnline community! I present my design for the Kit Card Design Contest: The Mechanical Wolf. This model is a reinterpretation of a traditional wolf puzzle, transformed into a 3D parametric work of art. Th e design was created to be printed entirely on a single kit card, without supports, and assembled to create a voluminous sculpture.
Design Description:
This design utilizes a layering technique to create depth and volume, a concept based on the layered design of a wooden puzzle, but adapted for precision 3D printing. The result is a wolf in a dynamic walking pose, with articulated legs that allow for subtle positioning.
The card kit has been optimized for quick printing and easy removal of parts. Assembly is based on press-fit, requiring no glue (although a little can be used for permanent fixation). The design was visualized and prepared using Anycubic Slicer Next.

- Glue-Free Snap-Fit: The pins and holes are designed for a firm and secure fit.

Detailed Assembly Guide:
Step 1: Detach the Pieces Carefully detach all the pieces from the card kit frame. Most pieces should come off easily.

Step 3: Finishing Touches
- Press all parts firmly to ensure everything is secure.
If any pin is a little loose, you can use a drop of glue to secure it.
Printing Tips:
- Filament: PLA or PETG works well. PLA is great for precision and vibrant colors.
- Layer Height: 0.20 mm is recommended for a good balance between speed and detail.
- Supports: Not required.
- Adhesion: Proper table calibration and perhaps a little spray adhesive can help with the first coat, if needed.
