The Stealth Pop-Out Cupholder is a flush-mounting, mechanical storage solution designed for home usage, workspace desks, or any confined structural spaces where a minimalist profile is required. The design is inspired by the classic dashboard kinematics found in premium automotive interiors, specifically the Saab 9-5 and Citroën C6 mechanisms, as well as the geometric principles established in Grzegorz H. Baniak's patent for confined space cup holders. The entire mechanism has been completely re-engineered from the ground up to utilize an original, fully 3D-printable compliance architecture. A standard beverage can is securely supported by the deploying cantilever ring.
The entire mechanism consists of nine individually printed pieces and is engineered for zero-support printing to eliminate material waste. Countersunk screw channels are integrated into the housing for rigid attachment to desk edges, vertical panels, or custom enclosures.
For the build, the mechanical linkage components are designed to snap together smoothly using integrated friction-fit retention pins. The assembly can be done entirely by hand, as the design requires no secondary tools, hardware fasteners, or adhesives. Total assembly in under thirty seconds, with the full operational sequence demonstrated in the video above.
